How do I configure Outlook 2013/2016/2019/2021 to connect to an MDaemon account using ActiveSync?

With a valid ActiveSync license installed and enabled, MDaemon users can connect to the MDaemon server using Outlook ActiveSync profiles in Outlook 2013/2016/2019/2021.

ActiveSync connections from Outlook to MDaemon require a SSL certificate in order to connect.  If a self signed certificate is installed on the server, the client will be able to connect, however, Outlook will display a certificate error.  If the certificate is installed to the client as a trusted source, the error will not appear.

Please be sure to apply the latest updates to Microsoft Office.


From the Outlook client:

  1. Explore to the Control Panel
  2. Select Mail
  3. Select Add
  4. Define a unique name for the new profile
  5. Select Manual setup or additional server types
  6. Select Next
  7. Select Outlook.com or Exchange ActiveSync compatible service
  8. Select Next
  9. Enter in the User Information, Server Information, and Logon Information:
    • Your Name: Enter your name
    • E-mail Address: Enter your full email address
    • Mail Server: Enter your Hostname or IP address of your MDaemon server
    • User Name: Enter your full email address
    • Password: Enter your password
  10. Select Next
  11. Select Finish
  12. Select OK
