The following article describes how to route all outbound mail to a global smart-host or route outbound mail from a specific domain to a smart-host.
From the MDaemon console:
- Click Setup
- Select Server Settings
- Expand Servers & Delivery
- Click Delivery
- Select the option: Send all outbound email to each domain's smart host
- In the Default smart host field, enter the IP address or host name of the smart host.
- Note: The smart host is normally your ISP's SMTP server. (example: 192.0.2.124 or 'mail.example.com' )
- If no domain specific smart host is configured then this one is used by default
- Click Ok
If the smart host requires authentication before it will accept messages from your server:
- Select Use SMTP Authentication
- Enter the user name/password that is used for authenticating to the smart host.
- Click Ok
If the smart host requires a POP3 check before it will accept messages from your server:
- Select Perform a POP check
- Enter the host or IP address to which you wish to connect and the user name/password of the account.
- Click Ok
To define a smart host for your primary and/or extra domains:
- Click Setup
- Click Domain Manager
- Expand the domain in question
- Click Smart Host
- In the Smart host field, enter the IP address or the host name of the smart host.
- Note: The smart host is normally your ISP's SMTP server. (example: 192.0.2.124 or 'mail.domain.com' )
