# How do I configure Thunderbird to sync contacts using CardBook?

## The following article requires the Cardbook plug-in for Thunderbird. This plug-in can be found in the extensions menu in Thunderbird or the link below.

Thunderbird supports CardDav by default. This is an alternate method to sync contacts.

When the plug-in is installed and enabled:

1. Click the **CardBook** icon
2. Select the CardBook options icon
3. Mouse over **Address Book**

5. Select **Remote

6. Click **Next**
7. Select **CardDAV**
8. Enter the URL of MDaemon's web server.
9. Enter the **Username**
10. Enter the **Password**
11. Click **Validate** to verify the protocol.

12. Click **Next**
13. Choose the contact list(s) to be added to the client plug-in.

14. Click **Next**
15. Click **OK** to close the wizard.
