How to update the license file to resolve licensing issues in MDaemon and/or SecurityGateway

The following steps should be taken to resolve any licensing issues when activating MDaemon, SecurityGateway, or any of our other product offerings.

Updating the license file will cause the service to restart. 

MDaemon

In regards to MDaemon, MDaemon Antivirus, MDaemon Connector, and/or ActiveSync, the license update process can be performed in a MDaemon Configuration Session or in Remote Administration.

MDaemon Configuration Session

  1. Open a MDaemon Configuration Session
  2. Select Help
  3. Select Register your MDaemon software
  4. Click Update to update the license file.

Remote Administration

  1. Login to Remote Administration as a global administration.

  2. Click About
  3. Click Registration
  4. Click Update

Security Gateway

  1. Login to the Security Gateway interface as a global administrator.
  2. Select Manage product registration and activation in the Server Status section.
  3. Click Click here to request an updated license file in the Activation Status section.

If the issue remains, flush the DNS on the server to reset the network connection and try the above steps again.

  1. Open a Command Prompt on the server as an administrator. 
  2. Type ipconfig /flushdns
